Vandaar ook de naam air plant (luchtplantje). Het is een sterk soort plant, die over het algemeen minder verzorging nodig heeft dan de meeste andere huisplanten. De luchtvochtigheid wordt door de air plant opgenomen via zijn trichomen, de kleine donzige haartjes op de bladeren van de plant. De luchtvochtigheid in de gebieden waar de luchtplantjes oorspronkelijk groeien is hoger dan hier. Om deze reden behoeft uw airplant nog enigszins wat verzorging voor een optimale levensduur:<\/p>\n<h2>Algemene verzorgingstips<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Uw air plant besproeien en\/of onderdompelen. Meer informatie is hieronder te vinden<\/li>\n<li>Een air plant houdt van een lichte en heldere omgeving<\/li>\n<li>Bescherm de air plant van temperaturen onder de nul<\/li>\n<li>Bij voorkeur de air plant niet in de volle zon zetten<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Air plant in open omgeving<\/strong><br \/>\nHet is voldoende om de airplant eens of twee keer per week te besproeien in warmere maanden. In koelere maanden mag dit eens per twee weken zijn. Dit kan bij voorkeur met onze <a href=\"https:\/\/tillandsiawebshop.com\/nl\/product\/tillandsia-verzorging-spray\/\">Tillandsia verzorgingsspray<\/a>. Als u deze niet in huis heeft, kan uw air plant ook goed met (kraan)water worden besproeid. De air plants houden ervan om in zijn geheel op te kunnen drogen, alvorens zij weer besproeit worden. Om de levensduur van uw luchtplantje te verlengen, lees onderaan deze pagina de onderdompel-methode.<\/h4>\n<h4><strong>Airplant in open glas<\/strong><br \/>\nHiervoor geldt dezelfde verzorging als bij airplants in een open omgeving. Echter wordt er aangeraden om de airplant uit het glas te halen wanneer u deze besproeid. Bij voorkeur met de <a href=\"https:\/\/tillandsiawebshop.com\/nl\/product\/tillandsia-verzorging-spray\/\">Take Airplants verzorgingsspray,<\/a> maar het kan ook goed met water (regenwater of kraanwater) worden gedaan. Om de levensduur van uw airplant te verlengen, lees onderaan deze pagina de onderdompel-methode.<\/h4>\n<h4><strong>Airplant in dicht glas<\/strong><br \/>\nBesproei het plantje wekelijks (in koelere maanden eens per twee weken) met \u00e9\u00e9n sproeitje en doe het ook weer opgedroogd terug in het glas. Wanneer de airplant de sterke en verzorgde kleurrijke look begint te verliezen, kunt u deze een onderdompel-behandeling geven. Deze onderdompel-methode is hieronder te vinden. Belangrijk is om de airplant in zijn geheel te laten opdrogen (kan soms wel tot een paar dagen duren na het onderdompelen), voordat u deze weer in het dichte glas plaatst. Wanneer het binnen het glas vochtig wordt\/is, kan de plant slechter worden aangezien het zijn vocht niet kwijt kan. Het is dan beter om deze even eruit te halen en te laten ademen totdat het in zijn geheel is opgedroogd. Onthoud goed hoe uw airplant eruitzag nadat het zijn onderdompel-sessie heeft gehad en opgedroogd was. Wanneer het deze look weer begint te verliezen, kunt u uw airplant nogmaals zo&#8217;n zelfde onderdompel-behandeling geven.<\/h4>\n<h3>Luchtplantjes onderdompel-methode<\/h3>\n<p>Om uw luchtplantje helemaal tot zijn recht te laten komen, kunt u deze eens per maand onderdompelen in een bak (kraan)water. Tijdens deze onderdompel-sessie zuigt de airplant zich vol met water. Als u deze vervolgens na 30 minuten uit het water haalt, bloeit ze op. Belangrijk is om de airplant vervolgens in zijn geheel op te laten drogen.
