Wat is een air plant (luchtplantje)?<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Luchtplantjes hebben weinig water nodig, aangezien ze grotendeels kunnen leven van de luchtvochtigheid. Het is dan ook een plantje zonder wortels, soms hele klein wortels uitsluitend om zich vast te houden. Het zijn namelijk epifyten, plantjes die oorspronkelijk groeien bomen en planten. De voeding wordt gehaald uit de luchtvochtigheid\u00a0en regen. Dit gebeurt via de schubjes op de bladeren van de luchtplantjes Een air plant heeft dus geen grond nodig om te\u00a0groeien \u00e9n te bloeien. In uitzonderlijke gevallen kan er een paars en gele bloem bloeien uit een luchtplantje. Sommige soorten worden rood van kleur in de bloeiperiode!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Waar komen luchtplantjes vandaan?<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Deze unieke planten komen van origine voor in tropische\u00a0gebieden, hoofdzakelijk in Midden- en Zuid-Amerika.\u00a0Onze air plants worden vermeerderd via stek of zaad.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Hoe oud is een luchtplantje?<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

De meeste air plants die u tegenkomt, zijn meer dan\u00a0twee jaar oud. Een uitzondering is de Tillandsia xerographica<\/a>,\u00a0welke gemiddeld meer dan vier jaar oud is en tot wel\u00a020 jaar oud kan worden!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Wat heeft Tillandsia met een luchtplantjes te maken?<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Het plantengeslacht is Tillandsia,\u00a0maar de benaming air plants (luchtplantjes) wordt vaker gebruikt. Het is familie van de Bromelia, maar air plants hebben de unieke eigenschap geen grond\u00a0nodig te hebben om te kunnen leven of groeien.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Hoeveel verschillende soorten luchtplantjes zijn er?<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Er zijn meer dan 500 verschillende Tillandsia soorten! De bekendste\u00a0soorten zijn onder andere de Tillandsia ionantha<\/a>,\u00a0Tillandsia abdita<\/a>,\u00a0Tillandsia multiflora<\/a>,\u00a0Tillandsia juncea<\/a>,\u00a0Tillandsia caput medusae<\/a>,\u00a0Tillandsia magnusiana<\/a>,\u00a0Tillandsia circinata<\/a>,\u00a0Tillandsia harrisii<\/a>, Tillandsia Capitata,<\/a>\u00a0Tillandsia schiedeana<\/a>,\u00a0Tillandsia usneoides<\/a>\u00a0en\u00a0uiteraard de xerographica (ook wel de koning onder de airplants). Hoe moet ik mijn luchtplantjes verzorgen?<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Air plants hebben weinig verzorging nodig. Ze houden ervan om besproeid te worden met onze tillandsia verzorging spray<\/a>. Bij voorkeur 1x per week in de zomer en eenmaal per twee weken in de winter. Als uw air plant er verdroogd uitziet, mag deze vaker besproeien worden. Ook kunt u 120 tot 180 minuten de luchtplantjes onderdompelen in een bak met water. Dit zorgt ervoor dat de luchtplant zich vol zuigt met water, waardoor deze weer helemaal in bloei kan komen te staan. Luchtplantjes kunnen zowel binnen als buiten leven bij een temperatuur tussen de 5 en 35 graden Celsius. Air plants houden er niet van om in de volle zon te staan.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
